Plasma Fibroblast. Wrinkle Treatment.

Plasma Fibroblast, or Plasma Pen, is an innovative skin rejuvenation treatment which will significantly tighten, lift, and reduce lines without surgery. Using state of the art technology, this treatment can be used to correct specific wrinkles or areas of the face, neck and body, as well as reduce stretch marks, scars, or remove benign lesions like skin tags.

Your Treatment

The Plasma Fibroblast treatments use a small handheld device that generates tiny arcs of plasma, the 4th state of matter. When these arcs are created in your selected treatment area, they vaporise tissue in a very small and highly controlled treatment spot. As each tiny area of skin is vaporised, the skin contracts, visibly tightening the treatment area. This vaporisation is also used directly on scars in order to trigger the skin to regenerate itself. Since these are tiny controlled injuries, the skin’s natural healing cascade is also triggered, leading to a rise in collagen production, for further skin tightening benefits.

Your Experience

Plasma Fibroblast treatments are usually well-tolerated, but can depend on the size and nature of your selected treatment area or lesion. You will feel very fast, mild zaps as the plasma arcs are created between the device tip and the skin. Following treatment, a sunburn-like response is expected – you will experience swelling, redness, and tiny brown spots where each plasma arc was created and the tissue vaporised, referred to as carbon crusts. These will form small scabs over subsequent few days, with the scabs expected to slough off on their own by day 7. We recommend not wearing makeup until this happens. You will be given an aftercare cream and instructions, which should be followed strictly for best results and to avoid injury or scarring.

Your Results

You will see an immediate contraction of the skin after treatment, but noticeable improvements can be seen from around two weeks and up to 2-3 months following initial treatment. Plasma Fibroblast is not recommended for those with very dark skin (Fitzpatrick scale type 6), or who have vitiligo, are susceptible to scarring, are pregnant, breastfeeding, immune deficient, or take blood thinning or acne medication.

Pre & Post Care

1. Don’t wax, pluck, use depilatory creams or undertake electrolysis for two weeks before treatment, or in between treatments.
2. Don’t use prescription strength exfoliant creams for at least two weeks before treatment
3. Don’t shave for up to 1 week before first treatment. Please shave the night before all subsequent treatments.
4. Avoid tanning, including self-tanning lotions, tanning bed/booths or sun exposure, for 4 weeks before and in between treatments. A sunscreen with SPF 30 or greater should be used daily to ensure you have not experienced recent sun exposure.
5. Skin Types 3 and above may have to commence melanin inhibitors 2-4 weeks prior to treatment.
6. Only lesions assessed and cleared as benign by a medical physician will be accepted for treatment/removal with Plasma.

If you’ve got commenced or changed dosage with the subsequent medications, you want to advise your clinician:
-Antibiotics
-Antihistamines
-Antidepressants
-Herbal preparations including St John’s wort, Ginkgo Biloba, citrus oils, Herbal HRT therapies

Taking these medications doesn’t exclude you from plasma treatments; however, extra precautions are applicable in these cases.

AFTER TREATMENT
Until redness has completely resolved, avoid all of the following:
1. Applying cosmetics or alcohol based products on treated areas
2. Swimming, especially in pools with chemical/chlorine
3. Hot tubs and jacuzzis
4. Activities that cause excessive perspiration
5. Sun exposure to treated areas
6. Strongly scented lotions or soaps, prescription strength exfoliant creams, loofah sponges, and aggressive scrubbing to treated areas during healing phase

Do not pick, scratch or remove scabs as this may cause unwanted side effects. Application of Stratamed or an ice pack/cool compress every hour can assist with redness and swelling. Only apply Stratamed on the treatment area for the first 24 hours. If healing is delayed, a thin coating of antibiotic ointment could also be advised – consult your GP.

Unsure of the right treatment for you?

Get your skin analysed with the SkinX.

While we can make fairly accurate judgements based on what we see, we won’t know what’s happening underneath the skin without the help of a skin analysis device. This technology allow us to take a look deep down below the surface to discover underlying issues before they occur.

We can examine your skin sebun and bacterial content, detect wrinkles that haven’t appeared yet, underlying inflammation, and more.

With a skin analysis, we can develop a personal skin treatment plan that will provide the best long-term skin health possible, and also track the results with you over time, so you can see first hand the progress we make on your skin.
